Auditioning for Sean

Hey everyone,

We did another round of auditions on Thursday, the 28th, and I really enjoyed the performance of one actor. I had a good feeling about him based on a preliminary video audition I had everyone do. We got such a huge response for the part of Sean but so many actors were, well, bad. So I decided it would be best for the 2nd time around to weed out the truly terrible ones before scheduling auditions. Anyway, I had a feeling about him & he proved me right. He was just what I had in mind for Sean (though slightly taller than my ideal).

I’m having callbacks this week and I feel like this guy is it. It all depends on his emotional ability. I’m looking for some sincere raw emotion. Sean’s that typical alpha male jerk in a horror movie on the surface but he’s got a vulnerable side too and I need to know the actor playing Sean is as versatile and talented as the rest of my cast! Fingers crossed he’s got the acting chops for this role. My gut says he does :)

Moving Forward Post-Kickstarter Campaign

Now that it’s been a week since our Kickstarter campign for Summit was successful, we’re moving forward with pre-production for the film. We have a lot of work ahead of us and we want to give you the inside scoop! We’ll be talking about our experiences working toward our first feature film here, but if you want to keep up with the latest news & updates all things “Summit”, check out our SUMMIT Tumblr!

As for this one, we’re going to try to do more blog posts and keep you updated on all our filmmaking endeavors. We’ll also start incorporating film-related articles and recommendations into our posts. If there’s anything you’d like to hear about from any of us, feel free to shoot us an email. We Did it! SUMMIT KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN A SUCCESS!

Dear backers,

We have a little less than an hour left and we’ve made our goal! From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for backing SUMMIT! Whether you backed because you know & support me or one of the cast or crew members, or because you connected with me or this film or just this campaign in some way, I truly, truly cannot thank you enough. You were all so wonderful to step up and contribute what you could. I simply cannot express in words how truly grateful I am to all of you for making this goal happen. Getting this money and being able to make this film means the world to me and I only got there because of you, each and every one of you. Every pledge, big or small, made a difference. So again, thank you so much for helping fund this film! I’ll never forget your generosity. I’ll never forget a single word of support & encouragement. You have all truly touched & inspired me. I promise we’ll keep you updated as much as possible! And the 2 update promises are on the way; we’ll post them as soon as we can!

Update #23: The Final Push For SUMMIT

Hello my wonderful backers,

We have 6 hours left in our campaign. It ends at 4:26pm and if we’re under $12,000, we lose everything we’ve raised. If any of you can afford to go to the next Reward Level, it would be a big help and I’d really appreciate it. But I know most of you have already given what you can. So thank you for that. And thank you so much to those of you who have already increased your pledges. Whether we make our goal or not, we’ve managed to raise 87% of it, over $10,000; that’s a huge success. It means so much to me that you have all supported me & my cast/crew & our film. If this campaigns fails, we’ll start brainstorming and trying to find another way to make our funding. It will be difficult to pick ourselves up from failure but supporters like you will be what gives us drive. Whether it be towards Production after this campaign is successful or towards a plan B after we don’t make it, knowing there are people who believe in us and in this film will push us forward! Thank you!

Update #22: In The Home Stretch

Hey everyone!

First, I would just like to apologize for not doing an update sooner addressing the $9,000 Update Promise. Thank you so much for helping us get there! We are working on the gory effects video and will try to finish it and post it as soon as possible! I promise it’s coming. I also promise we’ll try to get the $12,000 Update Promise (the cast table-read of a pivotal scene in the film) finished as soon as possible as well so that we can get it to you quickly after the campaign is over. There might be a bigger delay with that though because I still have not cast the 5th character, Sean. I want that actor to be just as perfect for the role as all my other actors. So, we’re still going through the audition process. I know we’ll find him though! And I know we’ll make this goal, get you that video, give you your rewards, & be able to make Summithappen! We just need to keep moving forward in our last 4 1/2 days! 

Thank you again for all your support! I cannot express in words how much it means to me to be so close to this goal! I know that I would not be here if it weren’t for all of you and I’ll never forget your generosity. But we still have $2,809 to go! I’d really appreciate it if you can push a little harder these last few days and share the link a little more and really try to encourage people to give. Also, to our $10 backers, if you can afford to, it’d be great if you could increase to $25. That pledge level gets you a copy of the film &, if enough of you do so, we’ll get quite a bit closer. The same to our $1-$5 backers, going up to a reward level is well worth the investment. But I do know that giving just a little bit was a big dip into your pockets for some of you; so if you can’t go higher, I completely understand and I do sincerely appreciate the pledge that you have made.
