Interview with Examiner.com

Hello my awesomely amazing backers! I hope your day is going well. Thanks to all of you, we made it past 40% funded last night! And we’re hoping to make it to 50% by this Sunday! By 4:30pm today we’ll be halfway through our campaign and will have to work extra hard to keep the momentum going and reach new people! So please, if you have not yet, share our page with your network of people, and tell specific people you know about it. If you know someone particularly into the Horror genre or someone who really loves indie film or someone who has slightly deeper pockets than others you know and who likes to support young people being productive and shooting for their dreams, then please, start a conversation with them. The more exposure the project gains, the more likely the project is to succeed; that means that we’ll be able to make this movie, you’ll be able to watch it and you’ll receive your cool rewards!

Also, hopefully something that will gain more exposure, Writer & Indie Film appreciator, Nick Gauthier, approached me last week about doing an article for examiner.com. He interviewed me a few days ago and posted the article this morning! Check it out HERE

And thanks again for your pledges! It truly means the world to me to have such wonderful people interested in supporting both me and this film!

-Christina

Oh and don’t forget my backer promise: if we get to $6,000 by Sunday, May 27th, I will put up the entire first scene of the script as an update exclusively for backers to read! Just $10 gets you the first scene of the screenplay! It’ll give you a glimpse into how the movie will begin and leave you anticipating how the story will unfold! Please spread the word. Let’s get to $6,000 by Sunday!

Indiewire Project of the Week Poll Results

Thank you to all who voted for us on Indiewire! Unfortunately, we did not win. It was to be expected; we were put up against cause driven documentaries that all had already raised over $30,000. But we definitely tried hard and surprisingly gave them a real run for their money. We were winning up until just an hour before the deadline! We almost had it thanks to all the voters and link sharers, especially  Hybrid Vigor Films, who started a Twitter trend. I really appreciate all the support we got, and look forward to one day being featured on Indiewire when the film is complete. I believe it will happen. Either way though, it was an honor to be selected for Project of the Day and up against such impressive Indie films for Project of the Week. I congratulate the winner, Heartchild; it’s a wonderful cause! Best of luck to them.

Now we still have 34 days to raise the rest of our money! So, please keep spreading the word and supporting us as much as you can. Let’s make

Summit

happen!

Thanks and check back soon for more fun updates!

Christina

P.S. Update #14: Meet The Cast- Emma Barrett

Emma is a very talented performer. Originally from Australia, she traveled the world working as a dancer/singer and ended up dancing in Paris at the world-famous Moulin Rouge. She trained at David Mamet's Atlantic Acting School. She is now living in New York City and acting in independent films. Emma has worked with Christina on multiple projects before. She is very excited to work with her again on Summit! backstage.com/emmabarrett Read more: http://blog.summitthemovie.com/post/23546396322/update-14-meet-the-cast-emma-barrett-check-out

Check out our third Meet the Cast video, featuring Emma Barrett! I first met Emma when holding auditions for my short film, Come Here Often?, last May. I instantly liked her just from that audition. She had an awesome vibe and gave a great performance. After shooting that film, I knew I wanted to work with her again. She’s a great actress and such a fun person to be around. I’ve casted her in a few of my comedic films since then but I wanted to work with her again on a larger scale and give her more material to work with. So, once I got the idea for Summit, I decided to write a role with her in mind. I auditioned her but more out of curiosity than neccessity. I knew I was casting her and she knew the role was hers. Regardless, her audition was brilliant and I was positive that she would be a wonderful Sarah. I’m so looking forward to working on our first feature together! Hear what she has to say about Summit!

Vote SUMMIT for Project of the Week

The voting for Indiewire’s Project of the Week has begun! Please click HERE and vote for Summit! You don’t have to sign up or sign in, just select and vote!

The three films we’re up against for Project of the Week are all Documentaries with really moving or interesting causes. And they have all gone way above their goals on kickstarter. That is awesome for them; I’m glad their films will be completed. But Summit still has a way to go and needs as much buzz as possible. We’re definitely the underdog in this contest! So please, backers and soon-to-be-backers, support Summit even further by taking a couple seconds to vote for us on Indiewire!

Thanks so much for your support and commitment to helping us make this film happen!
