Update #7: Women Making Horror

I did a google search of myself this morning (not gonna lie, I do it from time to time), and came across this little article. It’s so awesome to have a site dedicated to promoting female filmmakers in the horror genre. Hollywood doesn’t showcase our horror abilities much, but we rock at it! Thanks Planet Etheria for the support & little bit of buzz!

Oh and, side note, there are similarities between the “homage to the genre” style of Summit & Cabin in the Woods. But Summit is very different from “Cabin” & is original in its own way. So, trust me, it’s a movie you want to see!

Thanks again to the backers, word spreaders, and all around supporters! My team and I truly appreciate it!

Meet the Cast- Lauren Ashleigh

Lauren has been an aspiring actor ever since she saw "The Wizard of Oz" when she was ten years old. She developed an appreciation for the horror genre at a young age thanks to early exposure to the movies "Scream," "The Exorcist" and " The Shining." After graduating from SUNY New Paltz with a degree in theatre in 2010, Lauren moved to New York City to pursue a career as an actor. Working freelance, Lauren has booked roles on three features, several stage shows and 15+ shorts. Check out our first in a series of Meet the Cast videos, featuring Lauren Ashleigh. Lauren is playing the role of “Jesse.” We auditioned a few dozen actresses for the role but I had a feeling that there was something special about Lauren even before meeting her; and I knew I was right when she walked in, auditioned and played the scene exactly how I had envisioned it. She was a perfect fit for Jesse. Since then, I’ve gotten to know her more and have seen more of her work; I’ve not only become more convinced that she’s perfect for the role, I’ve also become increasingly impressed with her acting talent. I’m extremely excited to work with her on this film and maybe even others in the future. She’s not only a great actress but a really cool person too! Check out what she has to say about Summit!
