Examiner.com Article & 5 Days Left! (Seed&Spark Update 13)

Good afternoon Amazing Supporters,

We got some exciting press yesterday that we're happy to share with you. We were invited to do an interview with Examiner.com and it resulted in THIS ARTICLE. We're hoping it will garner some more attention & support for our campaign as we're winding down to the finish line.

Speaking of that, we have less than 6 days left to get to at least 80% of our goal and be able to make these 2 short films! Our campaign ends at 2pm on Wednesday, the 9th. We just need to reach a few more wonderful supporters like all of you to step up and join us in turning this dream into reality. We're 66% funded and $2,704 away from getting the Green Light to keep the funds we've raised so far (though we're $6,704 from our total goal that we are still aiming for). We do believe that we can at least surpass 80% even if we can't get to our full 20k. Spreading the word & reaching more people is key in making this happen. So please keep having faith in us and supporting in these final days because we need you more than ever now!

Suggested Tweets for the Weekend:

Have a happy 4th of July & enjoy the weekend. We'll be back with another update & hopefully the Green Light on Monday. Thank you again for supporting & believeing in us!

CongestedCat Shorts: Meet the Cast - Gwen Albers

Here's the third of 4 videos featuring the cast of both films. Hear what Gwen has to say about "We Had Plans" and her character Diana.

If you're a new supporter, be sure to watch: Lauren's & Rob's. We're still auditioning for Chris in "Not Our Living Room," so his video will likely come shortly after our campaign ends (successfully of course).

We now have less than 8 days to make it to at least $16,000 to keep the funding we've raisied so far. We're less than $500 away from $10,000. So please keep believing in us & spreading the word. We can't do it without you.

Thank you again for all your support,

P.S. We released a bunch of our thank you cat memes and songs today! See/Hear them all on our Facebook page.

Halfway to Green Light & New Press! (Seed&Spark Update 10)

Hello wonderful Supporters,

We hope you're enjoying this beautiful weekend! We're excited to announce that although we may not be at the halfway mark of our goal, we are at the halfway mark for getting green lit at 80% on Seed&Spark. So bare minimum, we only have to raise another 8k. However, we are of course going for gold, so raising another $12,000 in the next 10 days is still our plan!

In order to accomplish this, Kelsey & I will be at Pride tomorrow to not only support the cause but also promote our campaign. If you'll be there, we'd love to see you! Feel free to tweet at us (@CongestedCat, @Craia9, @AspireThis) so we know you're there.

Also some exciting news for today, the HLC Project featured a Q&A with me & Kelsey and plugged our campaign. Read it HERE!

Tweet of the Day: Read this Q&A with the @CongestedCat Shorts creators on @TheHLCProject http://thehlcproject.com/kelsey/ & #SupportIndieFilm http://t.co/fOQWCaOQps

Fingers crossed tomorrow results in many new supporters of us and these projects. But we know we'll still need help to make it to the finish line. So please keep spreading the word.

Tweet for Tomorrow: The @CongestedCat Shorts team is promoting its #LGBTQ campaign at #NYCpride2014! If you see them, #supportindiefilmhttp://t.co/fOQWCaOQps

Thank you for supporting & believeing in us! We wouldn't be here without you & we'll never forget that!

Christina, Kelsey & team.

P.S. Kelsey & I contemplated recreating this Broad City scene for hitting 8k, but there just wasn't a budget for that ;)

CongestedCat Shorts: Meet the Cast - Rob Ceriello

Here's the second of 4 videos featuring the cast of both films. Hear what Rob has to say about "Not Our Living Room" and his character Jake.

(He references his character Sean in my feature Summit. For context, feel free to check out his first Meet the Cast video that he did 2 years ago for Summit. But to offer quick context, Sean is set up to be the alpha male character trope in a horror film, so Rob's implying Jake is very unlike that.)

We can't say it enough, thank you all for supporting us! We're really trying to hit 50% by Saturday. So we're going to keep spreading the word & hope you'll join us in doing so today.

Thanks again,

Our Interview on New York Cine Radio (Seed&Spark Update 8)

Kelsey & I were guests on New York Cine Radio last night. As I mentioned in my third update, I've been on the show twice before, but this was Kelsey's first appearance. We had a ton of fun and would love it if you listened to our interview. It's the first 40 minutes of the episode. We start off touching base on the progress of my feature Summit and talking about "Kelsey" (the webseries) a little. Then we focus on the 2 shorts we're crowdfunding for during the rest of the interview. We do jump around a bit to other topics though, notably about women in film and roles for women, and why I chose Seed&Spark over Kickstarter. Give it a listen if you'd like further insight into us and our work.

We do stick around for the rest of the show where we chime in with our opinions on "Community" and then witness the guys choose their Star Wars characters for a role playing game they'll be starting on the next episode, which I have to admit was quite entertaining and rather 'Community-esque' in its own right. Listen here & enjoy!

We also appeared in yesterday's episode of the Us vs Film Podcast. That one was just their 5 minute 'Meet the Filmmakers' segment. It was very brief and didn't offer much context for the films, but hopefully their listeners will take an interest in our campaign. We appreciate that they featured us regardless.

We're so close to 35% funded and are pushing to reach 40% today, so please keep spreading the word. We can't do it without more generous people like you behind us. Thank you again for supporting and believing in us!

Tweet of the Day: Hear @craia9 & @aspirethis discuss their @seedandspark campaign on @NewYorkCine http://ow.ly/yrgO9 . Then support: http://ow.ly/yrgVS

Have a great day,

Christina
